Note: Recent graduates and prospective employees should be aware that, just like every company and human being, FM Global has been coping with the impacts of the Coronavirus as best as they can. Every company I have reviewed has had a dip in ratings in the last two years. The stress is pervasive. This company is a fantastic place to start your career and retire with too, as the retirement benefits are head and shoulders above consulting firm standards. Just some of the pros: -Likeminded, good faith colleagues. -Unrivaled training and a wealth of information spanning more than a century to absorb, if you commit yourself to it. (Hint commit yourself to it and you won’t regret it). -Insurance industry is stable and recession resilient. FM Global is doubly as resilient. -You will travel, and be wined and dined like no engineer in your graduating class. -A good faith approach to business that asks for a high level of commitment in delivering a high standard of work (If you are the kind of person that doesn't floss every night you probably won't want to work here) -A great starting salary that doesn’t keep up with the competition over time but pre-COVID was more than compensated for with lower workloads and substantially more engineering training and support.
