Should be an A+ company - Shame About the President!

Pros

Great Location, Good co-workers, Hot industry which should translate to good job security

Cons

This is a place where the smallest decision needs to be reviewed by 10 people. The running joke is whether the President will show up on time for meetings (if he shows up at all). You never know who's head is going to roll next - yours, your co-worker, or another Director's. I'm not sure how they're able to attract any applicants for leadership roles at all!!! I want to be clear - 99% of the staff are wonderful, hard working, competent individuals that work in a toxic, dysfunctional environment. This is a classic case of one rotten apple that ruins the bushel. 1). Abusive President that is not held accountable by Corporate Head Office 2). President is judgmental and has a habit of pitting people against each other through negative narratives and childish name calling. 3). As soon as another leader disagrees at all, a smear campaign will start. The only way to remain in the organization is by becoming as abusive as he is. 4). Never ending list of projects that never get done due to ridiculous turnover and lack of vision 5). No vision to follow - just a revenue driven mindless organization which makes you feel like there is no value or reason to go to work other than collecting a substandard paycheque. 6).Below industry standard pay

Pros

Great downtown location. Managers get free parking. Fun Holiday party, used to be Flexible hours but is now becoming more strict.

Cons

Believe the other negative reviews you've read. This is a toxic office, in order to survive you have to put aside your ethics and integrity especially the higher up you go the leadership train. The President lies about turnover numbers to head office and coaches people to give a positive NPS score trying to keep a good image with the corporate office. He blames everyone around him, tells complete strangers who he is going to fire next. ( he rarely does, he just makes their life hell until they leave and then tells everyone he was going to fire them anyway) If anyone challenges him in any way, he will try and ruin their reputation. They hold town hall meetings but then tell all the managers to make sure their staff don't ask questions so he doesn't look bad. His direct reports end up as nasty as him out of fear either that or he hires people just like him without any ethics. I saw so much discrimination towards people there. Mainly towards women and ethnic groups. There are some really good and nice people but their souls are crushed under this regime so much that long timers don't believe they can do any better. Low performing culture in many ways, lazy people seem to be left alone but then other departments are working like a sweat shop.

Pros

Convienent office location for staff who use transit. Flexible work from home enviroment comes in handy because fo the extra large workload placed on employees.

Cons

In my opinion company President Scott Douglas has no leadership ability only a Dictatorship regime, too busty making himself look good while always cutting employees and resources to improve the bottom line. Cnstant revolving door of upper management roles, once it was determined they could not work with Scott they were terminated, many good people let go for no reason other than unable to work with Scott and do his bidding.
