Pros

You basically can't get fired, regardless of competence or malfeasance. As long as your site or department doesn't get restructured out of existence, you can ride a desk forever.

Cons

Flex is a contract EMS company trying to rebrand as an R&D company without changing anything. That means a lot of marketing-speak but little real change from the quarter-by-quarter cut-costs-at-any-cost mentality. This translates into mediocre talent, compensation, infrastructure and equipment.

- Colleagues are helpful, and band together whenever need helps. - Constant learning on new designs and technologies - Full time and contractors are treated with the same respect

Cons

- Design service company environments: dealing with customers with high expectations, compressed project development time. - No training, but expect to perform competently because that is what the schedule has accounted for. - Very limited career development opportunity on a different job function - Too many internal processes (Time sheet, Kornos, and etc) adding to the engineer already busy workloads
