Pros

- Good medical benefits - Catering lunch, snacks and breakfast - Good work/life balance

Cons

Flutter Entertainment (the company) is only capable to acquire business, but not to drive progress. Since they acquire PokerStars, most of the people who build the 'Stars' left either voluntarily or involuntarily. It culminated in November 2022 when CTO decided to terminate 60 positions in Richmond Hill, and hire candidates in Romania for the same positions. His incompetency, as well as incompetency of his direct reports (senior leadership) has been demonstrated by hiring software developers in Romania with completely different technology stack. C-level and senior leadership do not understand that leadership is not just having townhalls every month and repeat the same story over and over again. They also need to have a clear vision and execute on the vision. So far, they've failed on all initiatives they started.

Incompetence and outsourcing

Pros

This was PokerStars, one of the best companies to work for in Canada for decades. Great, smart people used to work here.

Cons

Flutter's incompetent management destroyed it all. "Agile" transformation, outsourcing to Romania Bulgaria and India, destroying the technology, changing the technology stack, incompetence, zero innovation in games, Mass layoffs, still continuing. PokerStars went from leader in online poker to fourth place. Top company destroyed by Flutter.

Pros

The people you work with every day. Richmond Hill, ON, Canada office has a daily catered lunch, it is super fun. Good office amenities. Projects are ok. Work-life balance is great.

Cons

Low pay compared to the industry standard here in Greater Toronto Area. Hired so many management, but the bottleneck is not enough people doing actual work in most teams. Upper management is changing a lot recently. Benefits are shrinking very fast.
