Pros

Forward looking leadership that generally focuses on sustainable pace & long term planning. Hiring is focused on fit more than 1:1 skills which ensures team members are excellent to be around.

Cons

Completely draconian shift on return to work policies crippling what was once a great work culture. I'd say it is leading to an inefficient and less productive work environment. IGM salaries are rather low in comparison to the market in TO for IT roles. Many employees like me signed up for the work culture & stayed for 5+ years which is unusual in IT. I have seen this turn around 180 degrees in a span of 12-18 months. The office facilities are inadequate to meet the needs of so many people coming in. Most of my team members lived out in the suburbs with their family life completely detached from TO. There used to be nurturing leadership that has now become toxic. IGM/Mackenzie is trying to copy and replicate the Big 3 banks which is a terrible idea. I am seeing loss of morality across the company amongst employees and they have either left or planning to leave to go elsewhere where they'd be paid a lot higher and sometimes with vastly better benefits. I bet this is going to get worse for IGM once the job market recovers.
