Pros

- HR is able to select good ground employees, work colleagues from the ground level are really awesome. - Benefit if you are a full time - Snacks and breaks during work

Cons

- Mismatch in job description vs reality - Lots of amazing people left Infarm within 1 year, as they can not get promoted due to favouritism - underpaid salary for lots of positions, people are doing so much more than they get paid or than the job description -- management has no idea what those people are actually working on - Senior people have no idea what ground situations is, as ground-level manager will make up performance data and cover up everything. - during the covid outbreak, Infarm forced people to work in an un-disinfected production facility -Everything in Infarm is centralized. they are blind to ignore and not consider your region's situation and force you to do something that does not make sense but will make their KPI or data look good.

Pros

-All the teams on the floor (field, nursery and production) are fantastic. Some of the brightest and kindest people I have ever met. -If you network, you can move up fast. -The usual start up perks: monthly team lunches, company swag, dogs allowed in the office, light snacks in the kitchen etc. -Standard benefits for full time employees.

Cons

-The work is monotonous. Lots of repetitive motions over long periods of time. -You do not learn much about plants. -There is a disheartening amount of waste for a company promoting sustainability. The following comments are referring to the Vancouver location alone. I cannot speak on behalf of the other Infarm locations: -Favouritism was blatant. -A huge disconnect between management and floor staff. Management focus was more on numbers than people. There were many employees voicing their concerns over an extended period of time, yet we saw no change. As Infarm expanded, the output that was required also increased. But we were not given the time or resources to handle these increases. We were severely understaffed which put a lot of pressure on existing employees to meet output demands. Instead of hiring people for the team, management decided to have temporary workers instead and this has been ongoing for several months. The turnover of temp workers was very high, and the teams would spend so much energy and time training new temp workers every few days, which hindered our performance and output. Employees were getting burnt out. Management used the excuse that this was the nature of a start up but I disagree. There are many ups and downs of a start up but this was an easily preventable situation.

Thank you for your review. A great employee experience is extremely important to us and we are aware that a fast-growing organization can be challenging. We feel sorry that you are disappointed with the management since we always aim to build and retain a great employee/manager relationship. For this purpose, we implemented regional Q and A sessions for employees to ask all their burning questions. Additionally, we promote a transparent environment in which everyone feels empowered to reach out to their direct manager, or people partner with concerns or issues. If employees wish to submit anonymous feedback, they are welcome to use our internal OpenTalk platform. We would like to offer you the opportunity to reach out to understand the context of your feedback. As a former employee, feel free to email us at feedback@infarm.com

Pros

-Many of the people are amazing, hardworking and supportive. Upper management and people team were fantastic. -Feeling like you are contributing to a sustainable future, with the newest of technology

Cons

What a dissapointment. What could have been a lot of potential ended in a huge rug pull where hundreds of employees are laid off right after Christmas with only 3 weeks notice. Recklessly spending all their startup money without thinking of profit long-term. CEOs are out of touch completely, and all this because their projections were "too optimistic".
