Pros

Co-workers are nice people, some good shows, nice building to work in. They give free stuff if that's something you're into

Cons

Managment projects one image but reality is different. Yes they give free stuff, but would much rather have that money be given back to the staff who work long hours to make up for either incompetent scheduling/planning or the need to cover costs of expanding. When I work tons of overtime, getting breakfast in exchange dosnt make it better. Last straw was finding out while we werent getting paid for extra work they hire more people from outside and give crazy wages.

Pros

Great shows, brilliant talent, has a family-like culture, gives a lot of free food

Cons

The company lacks communication and has a workaholic culture that is slowly making other employees resent the company. Animation is a lot of work but a lot of the shows are carried by the top 5 employees on the production who spend their entire weekends, work 80hrs, to keep up and if you don't match up, you will be expected to keep up with the quality and quantity. Some animators feel they have to sacrifice quality just to keep up with the numbers. Don't expect a raise or advancement unless you've been personally voiced behind doors. They will say "we see a future" or "maybe we'll make you position X soon". Even if you follow up, it's met with little interest or thrown more bait to stay longer. Some seniors got paid as little as a junior and was still expected to perform as much as a senior. It's unacceptable and lacks awareness of how to develop a team that will lasts. Some employees have gotten heavily sick and one ended up in the hospital from physical distress. There's a lot to be said here but you won't find anyone caught dead talking about it. The animation industry is a small world and speaking against any company is career suicide. I'm afraid this won't change since there's a status quo established, but as long this continues, good hard working animators who can't keep up will leave as soon as a good opportunity will present itself. Employees deserve proper oversight and not have enough time isn't an excuse when this affects the mental well being of your workers and all it takes is a little 5 mins a day to give them goals, real honest feedback and establish what really is expected of you than rather relying on common sense.
