Pros

Met some nice people here.

Cons

I would not recommend anyone to work here unless they are content with not getting enough hours, dealing with unrealistic and strict expectations from managers, observing favoritism, constant gossiping, and toxic work culture. I especially would not recommend working here if you are a Filipino-Canadian/Foreigner as you WILL be treated differently and will feel left out at times. There have been experiences I went through (and have witnessed) where managers and employees gossip about a non-Filipino or a Filipino-Canadian thinking they won't understand what they're saying. I am thankful for the friends I did make here, however these friendships cannot cancel out the terrible experience I had here. Making mistakes (whether big or small) are a big no-no, trying to explain yourself to a manager is seen as "talking back", there is a blatant value of hierarchy ("I'm above you, so you need to listen to my rules"), and there is A LOT of harsh judgment and yelling. The managers here need to learn how to treat and listen to their employees better, instead of being prideful of their status, as well as learning how to deal with customers better as it is abundantly clear most managers do not know how to handle agitated customers. These managers at Jollibee will go on to yell at their employees about the challenging customers as it could have been avoided if the employees didn't make a mistake. Again, no room for mistakes in Jollibee even though mistakes happen all the time whether you are new or a long-time employee. One final note: Most of the managers, not all as there are only a handful of gems there, do not know how to be a manager. They say how they are there for you and to speak with them if there are problems, however this is false as they will take what you say personally and not handle it rationally. Anything that challenges their authority or their "rules" do not mesh well with them. They also find manipulative ways to see if you really were "sick" when you call in. One manager even stated that if you call in saying you have a headache, to just take a Tylenol and come in as they do not see a headache as a good enough reason to stay home. So please be advised that if you work here you will most likely need another job, paychecks come in at weird times (which honestly they should mention during the interview because it came as a surprise), and the only positive thing they offer is a free lunch however even that has its own limitations.

Pros

Prestige of being employed in Asia's biggest quick service restaurant industry. A working environment wherein you feel part of a family. Competitive total rewards

Cons

Lack of written corporate policies to help your job. Bureaucracy is still present in some of the departments. Career growth is not available for everyone.
