Pros

Global CRE footprint, strong brand and financial backbone with OMERS

Cons

-coo is a bully (must think ideas are his or you are blocked out) -yes people are rewarded by COO -high nepotism -toxic environment -not diverse -random global roles that are not required -inequity for pay and role -lack of integrity -throw out titles for junior and skill lacking employees -inflated titles and no merit in unwarranted promotions to low performers -optics more important than real things

Pros

The perks and benefits OMERS/Oxford Properties Group offered were amazing. Free breakfast every morning, snacks throughout the day, monthly events, bi-weekly Thirsty Thursdays with free alcohol, team lunches every month, etc... like the list go on. They definitely made sure to give every employee what they needed to have fun. The desks were huge, coffee was abundant, supplies and services were always available.

Cons

The work was repetitive, mundane, and uninspiring. You were doing the same thing all the time, and didn't have much room to grow and learn. There were no training packages or really any real training schedule, so you were just taught whenever by whoever was available .And many times people didn't really understand what they were doing or why they were really doing the things they do, they just did it. Most of the employees are older, and were uninspiring to talk to. Many struggled with how to use most microsoft office programs, or computers really, and because of that, many of the processes were excessive and longer than they had to be because no one wanted to convert the processes to on the computer. There was also no chance of moving up because everyone had been there forever, and you just had to wait till people retired to move up. Even then it becomes a seniority thing and not one based on merit.

Horrible middle management

Pros

Oxford offers a competitive salary and the company is growing at a fast speed. There's always interesting projects to work on.

Cons

Salary is only competitive because they don't pay overtime. The higher salary is supposed to compensate for the incredible amount of overtime you will need to do. They promise work life balance but their definition of work life balance is leaving on time and logging in from home at night time. I often sat there not having anything particularly urgently due until 10 or 11pm just because they wouldn't let me leave. Some of the middle management have no clue what they are doing and they over work their staff to produce the work with additional supporting information to dumb it down for them. They'll even roll their eyes at you if you tell them you have to leave on time today.
