Pros

Compensation, Benefits - they are decent!

Cons

Horrible horrible culture. They are firing people left right and center that have been with the company for 10+ years, just because they don't want them around anymore. They make cut throat business decisions and its showing the instability in employees morale. I was so unhappy there. Toxic people. Toxic environment. I went home every day and was so nervous and uncomfortable to come to work. I know I am an exceptional employee and moving companies was the best decision I ever made. I had PTSD after I left, I had to talk to my new manager about how my old manager treated me. HR was the worst at this company. A huge massive group that has nothing to show for what they do. Do not work here!

Pros

If you're a slacker, it's the ultimate place to be and get paid more than the average market rate. For example, you can slack off for the entire year and then ramp up towards the entire year in hopes of obtaining a better performance appraisal. In fact, I know many people who genuinely stay in the company because of how many people are slackers. it's a good life if you're anything above a senior manager level,. In summary, it's a really exceptionally good at being mediocre.

Cons

1. Toxic - there are record number mental health issues here. I have friends taking unpaid leave in order to recover from the mental health issue inflicted at this place. It is incredibly. HR always take the boss side and causing more toxicity. 2. It's a typical malay company in many sense. There is no diversity. The leadership is comprised of the same malay men, with a token female representation. I've never seen any other race occupy a higher position either. 3. Promotions are time based even though they claim it's not. And performance appraisals are force ranked. So if you're a superstar in a superstar department then you're basically a goner. People stay and retire in this company - that's not a good thing. Senior management don't even know how to use simple tech like teams or basic powerpoint (yes, I was shocked) 4. You get shuffled into projects and roles without your consent. And let me tell you that foreigners get paid more to do the same work that you do. Although it's a so called "malaysian company".

Pros

Great benefits, and the offices were really nice at Petronas

Cons

No room for progression, lots of politics- takes a lot of time to get anything done with every small step requiring approval.
