Pros

+Great office +Free cheap snacks +Good culture +Great for people just graduating +Benefits are great for halifax +Great place to see out a career if you never want to excel, are fine with bad pay and high-school politics

Cons

+Mid-range and Senior staff receive insultingly low pay and many bs stories to justify the pay until they threaten to quit, then the pay goes to industry standard for the area. +High-school grade nepotism and politics are played among management and executives +Management pressures employees to submit positive glassdoor and game reviews +Benefits pale in comparison to other companies (no christmas bonus? no stock options? no profit sharing?) +Extremely corrupt team lead and management layer. Success by sucking up rather than being decent people and good at your job. +An abnormally high number of rumours that can actually be substantiated by consistently similar recollections from various employees of how execs harassed/discriminated against/forced away past employees +"Rocking the boat" ends up in cliques of seniors and managers teaming up on a person and getting them fired. Execs play along.

Pros

- The people working there are great. Bright, responsible, fun & personable. - Good location. Office is bright & open, convenient for travel. - Supportive. RS can help you with education and let you try things you haven't done before, you just need to ask and make a good case for it. - Free snacks & coffee, a small gym, saunas, computer purchase plan and healthy living benefits.

Cons

- Salary. You will be paid less than other places. that's just how they operate. - Growing pains. A formerly small company really struggling to grow up, flips back-and-forth between marketing itself as a successful small business or an up-and-coming corporation. - Management. Very large disconnect between your average employee and company management. Made worse by the obscene imbalance of responsibilities granted to PMs which occupy the spot of middle management in a "flat company" - Priorities. It is normal to have clients get away with much more than is average in client work, especially new clients. Management will take care of the client first, their own people second. Projects have started & completed before a Statement of Work or Acceptance Criteria have been signed. But the office has a slide!

Pros

Work Location: Remote option available

Cons

I want to share my unfortunate experience at REDspace, where I was laid off while pregnant and faced a critical period in my life that required stability and support. I reached out to the company, seeking their understanding and reconsideration, but they declined my request without any genuine concern for my well-being. One of the most troubling aspects of REDspace was the presence of a fake first-people culture and a fake family-oriented culture. These claims were mere lip service, as the management's actions proved that they lacked the empathy and support they advertised. It was disheartening to realize that their proclaimed values were merely a facade. The weak management at REDspace was evident in their failure to effectively grow and scale the company. They lacked concrete plans and strategies, which ultimately led to downsizing and layoffs. This lack of vision resulted in a chaotic work environment and a lack of stability for employees. Additionally, REDspace offered no room for career development or growth. There was a distinct absence of opportunities to pursue one's dream career within the company. This lack of upward mobility and professional growth made it clear that REDspace was not the right place for those seeking meaningful work and engaging projects. In summary, my time at REDspace exposed a company with a misleading culture, weak management, and a disregard for the well-being and growth of their employees. The lack of support during a critical life stage and the absence of meaningful career opportunities were significant disappointments. It is crucial for potential candidates to be aware of these issues before considering employment with REDspace. I hope sharing my honest review sheds light on the reality of working at REDspace and encourages the company to address these shortcomings, fostering a more supportive and growth-oriented environment for their employees.
