Pros

Chill workers, not too serious, good experience

Cons

Low hourly rate, bad at scheduling, bad at giving days off when you need no matter how much time in advance you give, moody workers, can be a lot more stressful than it needs to be

Pros

Night shift allows you to use headphones. You don't have to wear a uniform. Night shift workers often get more hours than day shift. Also get paid a dollar more than day shift workers.

Cons

Terrible management. My department was understaffed and managers expected way too much from night crew. They would complain when the floor wasn't completely perfect when the store opened at 7. That all depends on how closibg staff leave the floor and when the new shipment arrives. But managers don't care about that they just want results. Managers also could be abusive and rude towards part timers and acted as if we were stupid.

Pros

Literally nothing good about this company

Cons

Managers are manipulative, won't let you take time off, will guilt you into coming into work even when sick. Managers are mean, and good luck if they decide they don't like you, you won't be given any opportunities to move up. They'll call you every day off you have and ask you to come in, they'll schedule you outside your availability and threaten to fire you if you say you can't come in. They will schedule you 5 days a week for 4 and 5 hour shifts, so expect to work a lot and still have no hours. They'll give their favorite employees the best jobs to do and let them slack off all while expecting you to pick up the slack. The union does basically nothing. Regardless of if you're 8 months pregnant, on crutches, post surgery, just out of the hospital, they expect you to be on time, and standing at your cash for your entire shift. Avoid this store and this company at all costs.
