Pros

You get first hand experience working here.

Cons

-You, as a Lead Generator, are not educated on how their "free service" actually works. They will never tell you exactly how they make money or pay you to hock this "free service". -Most often you will HAVE to stick with their script and only pitch to the decision maker of a credit card merchant account. Between secretaries, automated systems and sheer unavailability of the Decision Maker, this will be next to impossible. When you get someone who makes financial decisions regarding their Merchant Account within their company, and wants to continue the process, you are to shout "LIVE" which might as well be saying "I've got a sucker over here!". -A company that changes names so frequently is probably doing so to avoid legal issues and bad reviews. Past names include: First Choice Payment Solutions G.P., Sekure Card Services, Sekure Cost Review. Their script still has Sekure Cost Review in it. Aren't they Sekure Merchant Solutions? -After working there a while you will find numbers that are wrongly listed. Basically the databases they're working with are grossly outdated and a hidden part of your job is to Phish for information about that number to correct their database. One caller I encountered had their number for 10 years and they were not a business. -In order to be put on the Do Not Call List you had to hear: "Put me on your Do Not Call List." at least three times. Hang-ups and only hearing it once or twice only puts you on a three month hold. After that they try again. On a personal note I feel ashamed that I ever worked there and got a paycheck. Knowing that my paycheck, and the paycheck of everyone working there, comes from some other business getting locked into a service that probably has a huge fee regarding a disconnection of their service is disgusting. When researching this company on your own, I highly recommend that you imagine one of higher ups in the company doing the positive reviews. It makes way more sense. That or whomever is writing those positive reviews is of questionable moral fiber. If you have ever seen the year 2000 movie titled "Boiler Room", I highly suggest you do. It's like a lamer version of that. Actual address is 1004 St Antoine, Montreal, second floor.(The Gazette building.) You can see all the staff are out for a smoke break on the street view.

Pros

Pool table, Free coffee, fresh fruits twice a week. friendly environment among colleagues. Easy to get hired as long as you can speak and read English. the schedule is Monday through Thursday 9:15 am- 4: 45 pm Friday 9:15am-4: 00 pm easy to take a day off if mentioned to managers 2 weeks in advance. you have two 15mins breaks which you REALLY! REALLY! need it even though it's not enough. they paid weekly

Cons

STRESSFUL, DRAINING, Demeaning, they lie about your job there. They take micro-management to a whole new level. your gonna have managers constantly walking behind you all day all the time listening and if you screw up the script you could have a verbal warning right on the spot. You have to stick to script without any mistake Basically like a "ROBOT"(no joke, and that will fry your brain), They'll make you get up and pitch by yelling "Everybody get up please" like as if where kids. There's constant music playing which doesn't help your cold calls. managers will act nice to your face but really they don't really care about you. you'll quickly see it when you're not able to hit your targets and also make you feel brain dead. You have a daily target to obtain which is 4 leads per day which is hard to get and minimum 15 leads a week and at least 2 statements but it all base on luck because you have goods days where you can get 6 successful leads and the next day get 1 or zero. Turnovers are HIGH there at Sekure it's a never-ending revolving door they hire as easy as they fire you'll see it quick enough (most people there are all new not more than 1 week to 2 months old at the job). Your first-day of training is not really a training because you're going to work. The training they're going to give you consist of just explaining the work hours, salary, and the possibilities for advancement(promotions). (they don't wanna waste money training people because it's a script that you have to read)About promotions, you're not really promoted because if your sick and you miss work that means that your not hitting targets for your week your probably getting demoted and if your not hitting your targets as present your still getting demoted but like I said its not easy because its luck when your trying to offer free service to Americans who don't need it. I've met so many people who were promoted and demoted. Your basically a number there. What I noticed there is that the company will always make money because there constantly recycling people by firing and hiring new people all time and because your training is not really a training you start working right away which replaces the person they fired. so your not an important person for the company because you are easily replaceable. when you are hired as a lead gen remember you are a robot if repetition is not your thing the job is not for you. Push hard push hard with your rebuttals if you don't your getting writing up. there is a lot of things they do there to hook people up to stay and work for them as long as they could with cash bonuses and then after tax it on your paycheck and promotions which you could easily be demoted. No one is safe there at Sekure. Word!

Pros

None that I can think of....

Cons

If I could give them less stars, I absolutely would... Stay away from them!!!! Don't do it!!!! I highly encourage you to do your due diligence before you accept a job there... read all BAD reviews about them, you'll get a very accurate picture. I worked as a Closer (highest level of a Sales Rep) for this company for a short amount of time... they change people like you and I change socks... without exaggerating. Every few days there are new faces joining and other people simply disappearing. They don't even bother introducing you to all people individually, they only make a morning announcement. They give you absolutely NO training at all... Day 1 they make you shadow a couple of people and as of Day 2 (or 3 if you're lucky) you're already at your desk making calls yourself. They give you a booklet and that's it. You have no idea what your pitching about really, no equipment training, yet you are having conversations with business owners etc... horrible... I'm so glad I left from there. I knew from Day 1 that I had just made a mistake. No word of a lie. Here's a summary of the place. A small amount of the Closers make great money, they constantly hit targets but the rest of them are struggling. If you're part of the top ones who hit targets you may still hate the job, there is still constant unnecessary pressure but you'll at least make some money, if however you're part of the rest of the closers, part of the majority - oh you're in for a ride... The Director and upper management give the term "Micro-management" a whole new meaning. Management is on you every 2 hours, they send you stats, number of minutes on the phone, number of conversations etc... they'll make you feel so small... SUCH A CALL CENTRE ENVIRONMENT. They are never satisfied, always want more... The work environment is absolutely awful, very strict, inflexible - IT'S BY FAR THE WORST PLACE I'VE WORKED FOR.... by far... It felt like I was in grade 2 all over again.... so strict. There seems to also be a lot of favouritism, politics, don't be fooled by their PVM prime downtown location... for me they were a terrible organization to work for....and unless you're performing month by month, you may be without a job very quickly, sooner than you think. It's a very misleading place, you'll see a great kitchen there, you'll see a pool table, you'll see table tennis, all managers have been there for many years giving you that warm fuzzy feeling that this is a stable job, stable organization, but the reality is very different. Oh and the pool table etc... can only be accessed during breaks. the 2 short breaks are exactly 15 minutes long and the lunch break is 45 min long... don't be late!!!! Also this is an industry with a horrible reputation. Many scammers out there... misleading contracts locking businesses in unethical agreements... so the majority of the people you'll speak with just want to hang up on you when they hear where you're calling from... but your job is to keep them on the line and sell them on the spot, if possible. Stay away, if you can!!!
