Pros

Great cause. Guests (clients) are treated well and staff have great opportunities to connect with people experiencing homelessness

Cons

The fundraising and administrative staff are incredibly disorganized with poor leadership and favoritism. They don't make decisions and strategies based on increasing the impact on the community their serving, but seemingly based on the whims of leadership and whoever is being favored at the time. They don't value building relationships with the community they serve. They don't pay people fairly or value experienced fundraisers. They will pay the least possible, make excuses for high turnover, and not invest in keeping high quality, passionate employees.

Good client programs, toxic workplace, unethical leadership

Pros

Employees can gain good work experience and opportunities to move up or develop new skills.

Cons

Toxic workplace, issues start at top level leadership. Leaderships perception of a staffs faith is more important than performance and toxic employees are just reassigned. There is shockingly little as far as risk management and training; for an organization of this size they’re lucky to not have had more serious incidents. The turnover rate (and lack of succession planning) of high skilled employees should raise serious red flags. Rumour, gossip and favouritism are habits at senior levels with negative trickle down. Change management processes are non-existant and employee communication is shoddy. Decisions are made based on ceos feelings, often without consultation or proper communication.

Pros

Very good all incumbasing benefit plan.

Cons

Leadership is not trustworthy, and very highly politicized, and erratic decision making. Not a good place to work, highly recommend avoiding, does not maintain Christian ethics in practice.
