Pros

In this job if you were good you would get lots of hours and typically work 6 days a week with lots of overtime, which meant very good money for a job that requires minimal post-secondary education. This is a great job if your goal is to save up a lot of money and get in really good shape. However, you have to have a tough skin and be willing to deal with difficult personalities. You will also basically have no life outside of work with only 1 day off a week.

Cons

Often working 6 days a week, often required to work 10-12 hour days without warning. Often required to come in on days off if there was a shortage of workers. The union politics were horrendous and the managers are very mean if you are not up to standard and don't get your routes delivered on time. There is a lot of pressure to deliver mail very fast.
