Pros

Pay can be good, benefits are good. Guys working downstairs are a good bunch but then they're not management. They put on BBQ's now and again at lunch time.

Cons

Morale throughout the company is VERY low - Especially since the new CEO took over who is an egotistical sexist who lacks common sense and business acumen. Everyone is biting at the bit to try and get out of there and that is in EVERY department. They lie, lie, lie and then kick you out for no reason. I've seen 10 people fired within a year for no good reason and those fired were generating money. They monitor your emails and company cell phone and track where you are with the issued cell phone. Marketing department pull the strings and everyone is weary of that department - they are not trusted. RUN AWAY!!!

Pros

Some great coworkers and a team atmosphere. Not much else.

Cons

Clueless offsite management skills interfere with good business practices our demographic demands. Lack of training has management preaching onsite training on the clients dime is normal for the industry. Company wide low moral. Zero common sense and unfair collective agreement negotiations proves corporate management is completely out of touch with this branch and the demographic. Meanwhile other branches in cities with far cheaper living expenses reap the rewards. Truly head shaking nonsense that even union reps disagree with.

Thank you for recognizing the great co-workers and team atmosphere that Williams Machinery offers; our Kelowna’s location is small and mighty and they do a fantastic job. Through our Employee Engagement Surveys (which we administered yearly), our focus is to listen and improve. Two of the top two scoring questions from last year’s survey were “My company supports flexible work arrangements i.e. flexible work hours, telecommuting, job sharing, etc.” and “I have the materials and equipment I need to work effectively”. We have strong values, strong work strong ethics and we believe in fairness. We are sorry to hear that we were not a fit for you. We wish you the best in your next endeavor.

It’s unfortunate that your experience with one of our managers was not positive. As a BC Top Employer and one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies we are committed to being a great place to work and managing the business well in order to provide growth and stable employment for our people. We expect all of our employees and managers to adhere to our values in their day to day actions. Those who don’t fit with our values are given opportunities to understand and improve and if there continues to misalignment with values, they will leave or will be asked to leave. We agree that our technicians and parts people are great to work with and we have very good benefits. Thank you for your feedback.
