While Remembrance Day is only once a year, Starbucks commitment to the military and Veteran communities is a year-round effort. Meet store manager Chanelle L. from Ontario and learn about her connection to the military community. “My grandfather served in World War II, and I have many partners and customers at my store connected with the military, especially with our store being next to the Base Borden Military Base in Ontario. I have had partners transfer in and out of my location as their spouses were deployed across the country. Joining the Canada Armed Forces Network was important to me to help create a place for military partners to share experiences, as well as help navigate all the resources Starbucks has to offer. My team has participated in Red Shirt Fridays in honour of our Military Community, and we were also able to support our local Legion for Remembrance Day by donating a wreath and attending the ceremony at the cenotaph, which we plan on doing again this year. We've also connected with the local Military Family Support Center as part of my hiring plan and have been able to hire some incredible partners who are also military family or spouses."
In line with Starbucks unwavering commitment to elevate the partner (employee) experience and offer partners a bridge to a better future, we are proud to introduce the latest in partner investments to further enhance the Canadian retail hourly partner experience.
