I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Calix (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2025
Interview
The process is long by design to be sure they are hiring the best people. The Interviewers are human, good conversations, not trying to trip you up. Scheduling can be challenging so the time from interview to finish can take a couple months.
The interview process was very lengthy. There were 9 total interviews and then a 30-minute sales pitch. After all interviews and sales pitch, I was told on the phone that there was one other candidate but I really had nothing to worry about. They would be back in contact with me by the end of the week. That was the first of July. Oh, and in every interview, they discussed the great culture of the company. I did finally get a reply from the recruiter that they decided not to fill the position.

Thank you for providing your feedback regarding your interview process. Calix always strives to be mindful of the time and effort that candidates put into applying and interviewing with our company. That being said, the company’s needs in regard to open positions can change, and there are rare times when we are not able to follow through and hire for the position. We’d welcome any additional feedback, so please reach out to me directly.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Calix in May 2021
Interview
There were multiple interviews spread over multiple days (7+ interviews!), poor communication from the recruiter. Most individual interviews went well and interviewers were open and easy to chat with. Extremely long process for not getting an offer, seems like they could have made a decision sooner.

Question 1
Required a personality questionnaire. I knew how they wanted me to answer but chose to answer honestly.
