      Seasonal Employee Interview

      Nov 2, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Sacramento, CA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Target (Sacramento, CA) in Oct 2015

      Interview

Applied online and got a call from HR within 3 days. (off topic, I usually don't pick up from numbers I don't recognize or from potential employers so it goes straight to voicemail and that I won't be hit with a surprise phone interview. I called the local Target and asked the person who picked up to connect me to HR where I said, "I'm following up on a job application." She refused and told me do and check my application status online. I politely told her that I was told to give a callback to HR. At that point, she went off to say that "I've worked for 14 years and this is how the process works." I said my goodbyes and called the next day) Setup an interview for a Friday. I went into my interview dressing business casual (shirt, tan pants, and dress shoes), waited about 10 mins in the break room, and was interviewed in what I believed was the holding room for shoplifters. The room had a round table and two chairs with no windows. They will ask about your background, which shifts you can work, can you work holidays, and then 5 STAR questions. The questions should be easy if you have retail experience. The format they ask for is Situation, Action, and Resolution. I was told by the HR lady over the phone to bring one form of ID which the interviewer failed to ask even when I brought it up. What surprised me the most was that I got a rejection letter 1 business day later.
