Chambers Group was founded in 1978 following the passage of several environmental protection policies. The firm was established as an environmental consulting business to support industry companies and local government agencies navigate new legislative acts and associated regulations. Today these acts include the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), Clean Air Act, Endangered Species Act, National Historic Preservation Act, Archaeological Resource Protection Act, and the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act. With more than three decades in the business, there has not been a CEQA or NEPA document prepared by Chambers Group that has ever been successfully challenged. The firm maintains offices throughout Southern California in Santa Ana, Los Angeles, Redlands, San Diego and El Centro.
