Pros

Lots of people who have a passion for the cause work there. Solid research funding success and clinical partnership track record. Strong fundraising brands.

Cons

Frequent restructuring! Disconnect between executive leadership and the ‘tribe’ nationally and regionally. Difficult organization to navigate. Top down and silos endure. The org. could be so much more successful if employees felt treated fairly and empowered and donors were valued and respected appropriately. Patient centricity is weak.

Great Cause, Not Good Management

Pros

Wonderful cause. Light the Night is an inspirational amazing event to be part of.

Cons

National Office - doesn't support regional employees. Advised of new 'core values' and told we can be open and share what we think, opinions. When you do that, then you get criticized or punished for it. - Low Pay, minimal benefits - Working overtime is part of the job - you don't get paid double time, you get time off in lieu - Upper management is not supportive; if they don't like you, then you will know it. - no room for movement / growth - lack of recognition or rewards for a good job / performance
