Pros

Emplyees are extreamly over worked and poorly paid. You get what you pay for, employees that are unreliable and execute poorly because they feel unapreciated.

Cons

Older staff is being pushed away because the pay is the lowest. Raises are insignificant and very hard to get. Benefits are not great either. Weekends and long hours are expected. Short staffed and overworked no recognition. Managers play favorite.

There are some very smart and genuinely good people that work at Cabela's.

Cons

This company has come so far from its roots. It started as a family based company that focused on people and had strong values. Now it is focused on only the bottom line and will do whatever it takes to make a dollar and no longer cares about family or the people who work hard everyday to run their stores. Most of the managers are great but a couple are very poor leaders and have created a poisonous environment. The company often does not follow employment standards and does not honour employment contracts and agreements when employees exit the company. It's very sad to see where the new leadership has taken this company in such a short time.
