Pros

Its owned by 80% India 20% UK that pretty much says it all.

Cons

I can't stress enough DUMB is the HR section at Double Negative Vancouver. Extremely unqualified recruiters that are NOT hiring well versed and Industry professionals with far more knowledge than the most of the workforce. I am super surprised as to the kind of feedback they give out. 3D hires and Compositing section hires are extremely disappointing as the two girls that are in charge have no HR experience and think they are way knowledgeable than everyone else. The reason no one sticks around in the company is because of poor hiring skills and HR department that isn't from a VFX production background.

DON'T - Truly the next MPC of our industry

Pros

None, really, I mean it.

Cons

1. Awfully inexperienced management, supervisors, and producers who absolutely CANNOT effectively schedule and delegate work. You WILL get extremely frustrated if you are a mid-senior artist or lead who knows what they're doing. 2. Terrible facilities. Old, run down, dirty, not cleaned properly, extremely cramped. You're never more than 3 feet away from someone, SERIOUSLY. 3. No culture what-so-ever. Dry. Hardly a friendly environment. 4. As per DNEG tradition now, you CANNOT see ANYTHING the company is working on unless you have an explicit task on a show in Shotgun. 5. Better not hope a global pandemic roles around again or they'll slash everyone's salary and lay half the people off! 6. Did I say inexperienced leadership? Oh yeah. It's worth saying again. Supes are the worst here. 7. You'll be constantly fixing terrible work from India. It's not cheaper in the end if it doesn't work, right? 8. Slow pipeline. Loading anything, especially heavy scenes, takes ages. 9. Two faced HR to the MAX.

Pros

Good salary, paid vacation. Some nice people. Relatively good pipeline tools. Company events are fun but you can't bring a date.

Cons

Political environment. Lots of backstabbing and misplaced blame from Sr artists/leads. Feels like MPC(a lot of ex-MPC cliques work here) Clarisse is a horrible render package.
