Pros

You get a monthly salary

Cons

Wants to make out it is a caring company but does not care for employees or customers. CEO is vile. Motives are money and re floating. Desperately looking at ways to save money - cutting staff and corners. Senior/Exec change on a monthly basis. No clear strategy as there is no-one left in the company with a funerals background. Senior Leaders used to be experienced funeral professionals now they are friends or family of the CEO. Don’t listen to staff, make no allowance for circumstances. Have made so many redundancies of experienced hard workers just to cut costs. Colleagues simply disappear overnight leaving a culture of permanent fear for the future. You have to keep your head down and stay quiet to keep your job.

Pros

none at all, a poor employer and an even worse customer experience

Cons

Where to begin? I was there, a long time ago now but the drop down doesn't go back far enough, Morality was nowhere to be seen Health and Safety was joke, Local Management was unqualified and inexperienced. From the board level down to area management they were only concerned about the profit margin. The business model was to buy out local family undertakers, make it look like nothing had changed but behind the scenes they ripped it apart, sacking experienced local staff and replacing with cheap untrained part timers and consolidated fleet operations in a central location. On the Sales side they pushed us to up sell. More expensive coffins and fittings and to add extras like vehicles beyond the hearse and one limousine. Staff on full time work were also on 24 Hour call out with no increase in pay and no hourly rate after the 9 to 5. instead, you got a fixed per callout "payment" no overtime. You were often out for several hours in the middle of the night for less than an hour's pay. After having almost no sleep you be driving a limousine full of mourners. On some occasions we would have multiple call outs in a night and no sleep at all and still must turn up for a full day's work then repeat this the next night and so on.

Pros

Looking after families when at one of the worst times of their lives and taking some of the weight off them. Meeting some amazingly talented & dedicated people.

Cons

Bullying by other staff members. Having to stand by as staff members rip families off. Watching families suffer because staff bickering with each other point scoring by creating problems/mistakes to frame other staff. Senior management don’t listen & partake in bullying. Huge turnover of staff, good staff get pushed out.
