Pros
- central location with a residential feel, even though it is right by downtown - employer paid health benefits
Cons
Where do I begin? The extremely high employee turnover at this place speaks for itself. The fact that the higher ups from the east (Toronto) will blatantly state how poorly run the west (Nanaimo/Calgary) is run is another interesting fact. I quote, “Sometimes it’s like the people out here (referring to the higher ups in Nanaimo, and one specifically) jump into things without any preparation or research.” If you want to stick around and climb the ladder, I can tell you how: climb on the backs of others, pushing them down as you rise. This will guarantee that you are seen in a good light and whomever you step on and lie about will be treated as though they terrible at their job. Honestly, if you are devoid of integrity, this is the perfect place to work: you will get ahead. Another fact that speaks for itself is the high manager turnover. The most recent manager (who was actually promoted above manager) compiled data and evidence on the last manager in order to get her fired while pretending to her best friend. PS She will sit with you and welcome you when you start at the facility, graciously pretending that she has your back, that “this is like a family” and that she will support you. If you are duped by this act, unfortunately, it will be to your own detriment.
