Terrible upper management, in a span of a few months the entire upper management was fired by the CEO and new leadership was brought in. Unfortunately this has done nothing to resolve serious issues faced by the division, whose two main contracts are in absolute shambles. Enbridge pipelines ordered Ellisdon offsite and terminated their contract. TR Canada voiced deep concern with the performance and threatened to bring in another contractor to complete the works numerous times, on a project that is 4 months behind schedule.
Management does not embody the same values and ethics that Ellisdon Corp operates on. They stoop to dirty tactics like bait and switch when it comes to salary. Will tell you that you are doing an excellent job to your face, but when you try to leave the company they will sandbag you and give you a bad reference in order to keep you from leaving, as they are having trouble staffing good workers. Will outright lie about salary offers to you, and when you are presented with a contract, it is different than the agreement.
There is no employee development, senior management is too busy trying to keep their own jobs. Employee review and career development programs that are developed by Eilisdon are not followed. No mentorship or attention to developing talent. New employees are put in bad positions and worked to the breaking point to try and fix the problems stemming from management. But with no training or guidance, just being forced to work longer hours. The division has no processes in place to follow, a complete mess. Don't even have a full time HR person as this person was fired and industrial is using Ellisdon Corp HR as needed.
Ellisdon values state the client comes first. When I sat with the client during meetings and were questioned about the progress and status of work, I had no answers to give, as Ellisdon Industrial did not have any systems or procedures to meet their requirements. When this was relayed to upper management, nothing was done. Week after week the client would demand results and become more dissatisfied. Yet no decisions or action was put in place to resolve this.
I had a salary review and my manager agreed my salary was not competitive, he stated with no ambiguity that I would be getting X dollars raise by X date. Raise didn't come through and when questioned the response was that I was mistaken and this was never happening. This is after the manager found out I declined an offer from another company and the spot was filled. This is the kind of dishonesty you can expect from Ellisdon Industrial.
The turnover of this division says it all. It's a revolving door. In the time I was there, roughly 70% of people were fired or quit. President, VP, QA manager, HR manager, safety manager, project managers, superintendants, and field people. This division can't get any new work and their only remaining contract is coming to a close in a few months. I suspect this division is going to be dissolved at the time.
