Pros

Lots of travel. Decent pay. Good culture.

Cons

Project to project team dynamics change. Raises are well below industry standard and do not keep up with cost of living increases. So your original contract negotiation is fundamental to where you will be in a few years. French workers are paid more to start and appear to have a leg up regarding advancement. Do not expect to work in Quebec unless you are fully bilingual. Hours can be excessive ( 100 hr weeks) and contracts negotiate a salaried wage.

Pros

Mobilization premiums when on site.

Cons

Very low base pay for salaried employees. Benefits package is below standard. Lots of hours required without adequate compensation. No room for career advancement unless you're French. Management is discriminatory. Safety is treated as a joke. You will be asked to break laws and policies for the sake of achieving a milestone.
