Pros

Not sure if it’s because of Covid remote work, my department or my co-workers, but working at the studio was a blast. I felt there was healthy work life balance, opportunities for growth and of course, health benefits

Cons

Industry is pretty rough right now so can’t blame the studio, it’s been hard getting in anywhere and there’s been moments where you’d feel bread crumbed. Almost everyone I worked with/knew either left or got laid off. There were times I applied to the exact same position I had before on the same show, even got referrals and reached out to Hiring Team only to get nothing back.

Pros

Great studio culture, friendly, snack days on Fridays. Also bring your dog to work day!

Cons

None, it was a great experience.

Pros

Friendly people with fun projects. I enjoyed snack days as ridiculous as it seems. This was my first animation studio job and I learned a lot. Much of it was by making mistakes and having a decent support network help me.

Cons

Not too many. Mainly I don't like that trying to get a full time contract with them is a fruitless endeavor, and that benefits are not offered.

Thank you for your comments. As of 2015 we have offered a competitive benefit package. Our contracts are structured on Canadian animation industry standards and project- to-project contracts allow us to better manage and maximize our tax credit support and government paperwork. Many Guruvians have been here for years - some over a decade, migrating from contract to contract and enjoying the same benefits, pay raises and security of a full-time employee.
