Pros

The lake? Most employees are kind but also most managers and directors are not.

Cons

The CEO is an incompetent dictator. She persecutes and punishes people who disagree with her but promotes racist, misogynist, submissive employees that blindly do as she says. For years Harbourfront has had an extremely high turnover rate. The company is also severely understaffed, to the point of having to cancel festivals because there's not enough personal to run the events. Directors earn highly competitive salaries while the rest of the employees are underpaid and overworked. Harbourfront is also notorious for discriminating their indigenous employees, using them as a token when needed and discarted in cruel ways when their presence becomes uncomfortable. There are no opportunities for growth. The company only hires externally. Their ongoing disagreements with The Power Plant are the latest example of how a handful of power-obsessed chiefs will do whatever it takes to gain more control over the company even if that means ruining the reputation of the entire institution. Marah Braye has to go. Once the proud and lively heart of Toronto’s cultural energy, Harbourfront is nothing but a shadow of its past.
