Pros

Thorough training program Fairly lenient with shift swaps Good career development

Cons

- While the managers tell you that Joey prioritizes performance over seniority in its staff, that's 110% not the case. Newer employees get held to a much, much higher standard, and consistently receive worse shifts than seniors for at least a year (including the ones that underperform) -Joey prides itself upon the "the customer is always right" mentality, to a point where rationality in conflict management to protect its employees is completely absent. The customers' complaint, no matter how absurd, is always warranted. Any complaint will be translated to your incompetence as a server. Period. -Joey Restaurant requires you to do team service, meaning bussing, running food, for not only yourself, but also EVERYONE else across the restaurant. Meaning, more work that's required of you than if you worked at other restaurants. What's more absurd, Joey also has the highest tip out percentage in the Vancouver industry (vs Cactus, Earls, etc). -Overall extremely high stress working environment due to the company culture
