Pros

Working here exposes you to the worst aspects of a toxic workplace, so in theory you would be comfortable working at any toxic workplace afterwards.

Cons

I worked at Litco for several years and I would never recommend anyone to work there. In fact, I would recommend staying far, far away from them - both as employers and lawyers. There are a number of reasons for this: 1. The majority of their employees are overworked and underpaid, which has led to multiple people working second jobs to make ends meet. All this while the owners and managers take luxury vacations and beg employees to invest their personal income into the firm, to realize their goal of world domination and creating stakeholder value. 2. Their mandatory quarterly planning day where they hold their entire staff hostage so the owners and management can stroke their own egos, while encouraging employees to ask questions and raise concerns. Don't be fooled - anything an employee mentions at this so-called 'forum' can and most likely will be used against them. It became a running joke that anyone who spoke up at planning would be out of a job within a week. Unfortunately, this was more than a joke for some of my peers because several people were actually "let go without cause" after speaking up these planning days. The topics they had spoken up about included staff retention and unusually high turnover, unmanageable workload and expectations, and stagnant wages. 3. The core values, which each employee is expected to know by heart and are recited word for word at every quarterly planning day (yes, you're right, it does sound like something a cult would do). The issue with their core values is that they weaponize them against their staff. Someone harassing or bullying you at work? Have you considered the core value of "Don't Blame"? Complaining about being work being piled on your plate with no support or concern for your wellbeing? Doesn't really sound like you're embracing the "Own It" core value. Core values don't seem to apply to the higher-ups, but they are regularly used against employees or as an excuse to let people go "for not aligning with the core values". 4. Sexual harassment and assaults were not unusual occurrences (mainly at work events), though when reported HR would initiate a cover-up that involved supporting the perpetrator instead of the victim 5. If you're unlucky enough to be hired to one of the client-facing teams, prepare to say goodbye to your sanity. The expectations for the client care team are ludacris, basically management assumes that client care should be available for clients 24/7 to answer their beck and call. Each team member in client care has a caseload of around 300, with about 200-250 clients they are responsible for. You might notice there are multiple Glassdoor reviews that speak to "loving" the client care role. I can only speculate, but my guess is that these are fake reviews posted by management because that team is a disaster and has been for years. The majority of client care employees last no longer than 1 year in the role and ~80% of them have to take a medically-mandated extended mental health leave due to the stress of the role and the treatment they receive from the Client Care Manager. 6. Laid off employees having to sign NDAs in order to receive their severance package, and being told if they did not sign they would not receive severance. 7. Time fraud - and not in the way you might think. Pressure to work off the clock is rampant, and feels necessary in a lot of cases as there is simply just no other way to get all the work done without working evenings and weekends. Remember to expect a guilt trip when you want to take any of your unlimited paid time off. 8. Nepotism in their hiring practices, job assignment, and promotions practices. This adds to the already toxic work environment and incredibly high turnover. 9. The hiring teams for certain departments are given requirements by the owners for the appearance of successful candidates, specifically related to them being young and attractive. 10. Bullying, harassment, and negative attitudes. The seemingly neverending stream of firings and/or employees leaving for better opportunities leaves Litco with a unique problem: the toxic hangers-on. Within every team, there are one or more employees who have managed to retain their employment by staying under the radar or maintaining a frisndah. Typically these people are a nightmare to work with, treating those around them with disrespect and in some instances, outright bullying or harassing them. There is a sense that this behaviour is to always be excused, especially if they are a "senior" team member who may have sway in the organization. This is by no means a comprehensive list of reasons not to work at Litco, but there are not enough characters allowed to keep going. If you take one thing away from this review, let it be this: beware the wolves in sheep's clothing. Litco's outward appearance as a progressive, considerate employer is a lie.

Pros

- Unlimited paid time off & flexibility with hybrid schedule - No micromanaging - Health spending account that can be used on wellness (fitness classes & gear, doggy daycare, ski passes, sleep essentials, etc.) - Overall positive and optimistic culture - Team members work hard and are always willing to help. Very friendly employees.

Cons

Some teams are able to use the unlimited PTO more than others, depending on role responsibilities. Career progression is encouraged and supported but sometimes takes too long because it's a small company/ turnover is relatively low.
