Pros

Decent product with some modernization ambition. AI-adjacent work if you go looking for it yourself.

Cons

∙ Layoffs are used as cover to remove people who ask hard questions or won’t play politics. Expect “collaboration issues” and “communication skills” feedback conveniently appearing after you push back on something. ∙ No formal way to give feedback on your manager. HR surveys exist to check a box — nothing structural ever changes. Feedback flows one way here — down. ∙ Leadership takes credit when things work and sends blame back down when they don’t. The people actually fixing things are rarely the ones getting credit for it. ∙ Every quarter brings a new strategy that sounds good on slides and goes nowhere. The people presenting it can’t execute it. The people who can are too busy protecting themselves. ∙ If you’re in Canada, ask hard questions about offshoring plans before you sign anything. The answer you get will tell you everything.

Pros

Work is interesting and challenging. Co-workers are talented and supportive. There is pressure from leadership to deliver on deadlines, but nothing unusual. Fully remote is a big plus.

Cons

The workload is heavy and can be overwhelming.

good PTO and work from home

Cons

Another layoff. The C suite is struggling and is reacting without understanding the real problems. The Chief Product Officer is not able to produce a clear and successful product vision. A lot of hard work, but no results and the company is doomed.
