Pros
- The university can boast about it Infrastructure and Resources for scientific research - It attracts one of the highest Funding for university research in Canada - Creation of various institutes provide diverse expertise - Positive work atmosphere - opportunity to meet talk and listen to eminent scientists
Cons
The only not so positive point can be peer pressure..... though this can be subjective and open to ones on interpretation. In my view, a great research environment at McMaster University while encourages one to perform high standard research, the situation also creates pressure for researchers to come out with big publications.
