Pros

- Great variety of projects if you seek it (or in some cases, fight for it) - Fast promotions (for a certain kind of individual past the consultant roles) - Working with smart people (about 90% of the time)

Cons

I am surprised to read the many positive one-liner reviews on here, but I suppose this is all a case of "if you are not with them, then you are against them" kind of mentality that I felt during my time there. For folks who are thinking of joining, think long and hard about what your priorities and skillsets are before joining. If you have any technical skills at all, join a start up, tech company as a data scientist or engineer. The company is only good if you know that you want to work in financial services, or more heavily towards financial regulations, risk, public policy. If you want to work in another area within finance, join an investment bank, asset manager, or hedge fund that is specialized in finance and can give you equal exposure to different industries as well (which so many college grads don't grasp the concept of). You will not develop any content knowledge here that will help you transition to another role in industry - maybe some technical skills in Excel/Python but those are entry level if you come from a STEM background. The projects that you get put on as a consultant is typically back-office risk and operations work. If you are lucky and was able to work in another industry by heavily networking with folks at the firm, then you are still faced with the long-hours and get compensated very little. Also, you'll notice that the firm promotes one type of person the fastest (as cliche as this sounds, once you do the so-called colors test, you'll know which one) and that most of the partners / upper management are folks with the same type of demanding personality. If you are not "like them," it's tough to navigate the political environment and fit in.

Pros

Good culture, solid pay, good benefits

Cons

Same as with most big companies. HR a little too focused on DEI and feel good inclusion initiatives over things that matter to most employees and clients. Top management messaging is generic and seems forced. But all senior leadership seem fairly genuine and good people vs. hyper focused on dollars alone.
