Pros
I can't speak for all stores across Canada, but in general, RW & CO. Is a great place to work. My store has a great family-like vibe and very positive environment. Lots of communication between staff and managers, managers and DSMs, and DSMs and head office. Very good product that is easy to support. Company is growing. Hard work is payed off with more hours, and sooner promotions. No commission, which fosters a team-focused selling environment.
Cons
Pay is low, and it's hard to earn a raise. Other than position promotions, you get an extra $.25/hour added to your wage after each 1000 hours worked. It took me a year and a half to earn my first raise, after working a summer full time. Luckily I had been promoted a higher position that also included a raise, but only $1.50 above minimum. Lack of commission also plays into this, but there is a bonus that is earned when the team reaches monthly sales goals. Not very many hours to go around. I do work at a smaller location, but most part timers get about 10 hours per week. Lots of work to do when there's only a few to do it
