Pros

Good team/colleagues (for the most part). Good clients. Good location. Good hours for game industry (but not in general) 8:30am - 5 (but really ends up being 6pm) with 30 min paid break). Above average vacation (3 weeks). Working with talented designers. They have cornered the market for ui/UX in the games industry. They chances on ppl with talent (probably more of a cost savings strategy but helpful to get your foot in the door).

Cons

No benefits. Management does not understand Vancouver job market (See: no benefits). Compensation not competitive. Not always working on games like website says. Company culture is there, but built by and maintained by employees. No HR and immature operational practices. Management is and entitled condescending and CEO can be a real hot head. Management has a "you need us more than we need you" mentality and it shows.

Thank you for your review on Glassdoor. We are a fast growing company and work on some of the biggest games in the world. We have been in business for 15 years and the Vancouver studio is about to celebrate it’s 3rd anniversary. We are learning more and more every day as, between the UK and Canada, there is always room for improvement! We respect our employees work/life balance and do not have the ‘crunch culture’ which exists across much of the games industry. This definitely contributes to our extremely low turnover rate in both Brighton and Vancouver. Sprung Studios takes on a wide variety of people from many cultural backgrounds and are very proud of our diverse work environment (especially our gender equality). Of the 35+ people that we employ, these employees represent 17 different countries. With full support of senior management, many of our employees are hitting career goals that they never thought they’d achieve. That’s what we love about Sprung Studios. Our pay is competitive within the industry and we have a comprehensive training package to help our employees to improve and excel at their roles. We will continue to focus on growth, so that our employees can continue working on new and exciting projects. In UX/UI Design, sometimes the work is not glamorous, but every aspect of what we do is important to ensure that we create an excellent end-user experience. Our clients are all games/entertainment related and they sometimes require us to work on games-adjacent software and tools. We support them with all their needs, as all user experiences are important to us. Senior management are passionate about what we do and keen to work on more and more amazing games. To do this, we acknowledge and support our employees to help them to grow professionally every day. This year, we are very excited to have added a number of fantastic benefits for our staff in Vancouver, which include: Extended Medical Benefits Program that includes vision and dental 15 days paid vacation Christmas studio shutdown (paid) Early finish on Friday (4pm) Healthy office snacks delivered weekly Catered Holiday office parties As always, we have an “open door policy” and encourage any members of staff to voice any concerns they have to senior management. We are always here to help. We thank you for your feedback, as we are always looking to grow and learn.

Pros

Sprung Studios has always prioritized its employees. Whether it's learning and development, inclusivity, support, or celebrating accomplishments, Sprung always prioritizes employee satisfaction, no matter the company's size. The company has grown drastically over the last five years, but despite this growth, the enjoyment and daily satisfaction of working here have not shifted. The work completed and the team you work alongside daily is always so refreshing and uplifting. It's a pleasure to work on what I must say are the top games in the world developed by a top UX/UI studio that I am proud to work for. The work expectations are clear, the salary is competitive, the benefits are excellent, and the support structure is phenomenal. This is truly a great place to work and I am forever grateful for the opportunities I have had here and the opportunities I look forward to.

Cons

I can't think of any.

Creating an environment where employees feel valued, supported and excited about their work is a top priority for us and it’s great to know that this is reflected in your experience. Your feedback about the senior leadership visit is greatly appreciated - as always, we loved the opportunity to connect with the team in the Brighton studio. Thanks again for being a part of Sprung Studios. We’re grateful for your contributions and excited for what’s ahead!
