Pros

Fun people to work with if you get the afternoon shifts. There's sometimes free fruit in the break room. You get a free shirt with a dumb quote on the back.

Cons

Pay is poor. Part of your wage is the union fee and you don't get that back unless you attend a meeting outside of work that isn't advertised to employees. Customers are mostly terrible people. No discount for employees at all. Schedule isn't consistent and will fluctuate week to week.

Pros

Most coworkers were friendly and supportive, but there was one sous chef at the Yaletown location whose attitude made the work environment uncomfortable and difficult especially for younger female staff members.

Cons

- Run away. They will be so nice and kind when they try to get you in. But once you start working there, the attitude completely changes. Employees are treated more like machines than human beings. Management shows very little care for staff well-being or health. - Minimum wage with lots of deduction, Union fee and etc. - Really hard to request a time-off or sick leave - Demanding customers - Staff turnover is extremely high. It feels like 4–5 people quit every month, so be prepared to pick up the extra workload and cover the gaps left behind.
