Pros
Good pay. Nice central location (Vancouver office).
Cons
- Negligent management, why? 1. Leaving numerous employee contracts to the last week or even day of employment without any prior notice of extension is disgusting. Playing with peoples livelihoods should be taken much more seriously. 2. When people come to management with concerns over artist morale, usually due to the aforementioned, it should be again taken seriously and not thrown into the garbage bin of complaints. 3. Stop pigeonholing your artists into staying by deliberately continuing to use niche software that's harder to use and on par if not more expensive than the competition when taking training time into account. - Stephan (CEO) should pick a job and stick to it. If he wants to be CEO then he needs to learn to be more considerate of others and breed a more compassionate working environment to match, there's a reason why the top echelons are full of highly paid sharks because they go unchecked. If he wants to be a VFX Supervisor then go for it, and only it. You're a good supervisor, a little harsh directly and a little militant but you have a great eye for what you want and how to get there and I always appreciated that even when it meant a complete redo. If he wants to push Flowline and maybe fix this issue of pigeonholing a little then step aside from ScanlineVFX and push the software to other studios but properly this time to avoid another MPC fiasco; the software is already an IP of Flowline GmbH and not Scanline.
