Pros
Opportunity to gain valuable experience and learn new skills. Chance to work with a diverse team and develop customer service skills. Some positive interactions with team members.
Cons
Lack of Respect and Support: Constant reminders that employees are replaceable, leading to feelings of being undervalued and disposable. This significantly impacts morale and productivity. Unprofessional Management Behavior: Consistent negativity and unprofessional conduct from several management team members, including tantrums, gossiping, and rumor-starting. Mistakes are often used as ammunition against employees rather than as opportunities for growth and development. Poor Work-Life Balance: High levels of stress placed on managers and stylists to prioritize company needs over personal well-being. Many managers report going home in tears due to demanding work-life balance and mistreatment from higher management. This excessive stress is unsustainable and detrimental to employee health and morale. Unreasonable Expectations: Expected to take on responsibilities beyond my designated role without appropriate compensation or support. This included running the entire store without adequate training or assistance after my manager's promotion. Inappropriate Behavior: Experienced significant emotional manipulation from management. Specifically, managment made me uncomfortable by instructing me to dress "sexily" to impress the CEO. Disproportionate Accountability: Held to a higher standard of accountability than the actual manager and felt targeted as a scapegoat for any issues due to being the youngest employee. Confidential information was also inappropriately disclosed to other employees by the manager
