Run In The Opposite Direction
Pros
There were none. I am relatively young in my career with a solid work ethic and this company did nothing to nurture my skills and foster growth. I have thankfully gone back to school for a career change and couldn't be happier with the inspiring industry I currently work in. My time at Magellan Aerospace allowed me to be truly thankful for the job I have now and always reminds me not to take anything in my career for granted. It was that bad.
Cons
The worst job experience I have ever had over the course of my career. -Terrible environment with conflict occurring everyday between people -Meetings would erupt into shouting matches, often from senior-level management -Turnover is very high and it is common to see co-workers be let go for unknown reasons -Horribly sexist environment. I am a male but the way women were treated and objectified at this location was appalling. If you are a woman, you will have to work twice as hard to advance anywhere here. -Management consists of older men in the later stages of their career and nothing gets done without yelling at each other. -Pay is average to below-average and bonuses are non-existent -Senior-management rewards themselves with extravagant bonuses at year-end while the rest of the office staff are left with nothing -Training was poor and many are thrown into the job and expected to figure it out on their own -Major pressure from Magellan Headquarters is placed on this location to meet certain targets with no regard to how it's done. This leads to highly stressed management and very dishonest practices with how the month-end numbers are reported -The HR policies are a joke and the toxic and daily conflict gets shrugged off as typical "factory work-talk" -The facilities are filthy and hardly ever get cleaned I was truly disgusted with some of the things that I saw take place here. Please avoid at all cost. You will be doing yourself and your career a huge favour.
