Some good people at Mitel - the engineering group is a smart bunch and work collaboratively to reach goals. Senior management is committed to investing in new Cloud technologies.

Cons

No pay raises ever, no opportunity for advancement. Employees for the most part expendable and they constantly lay off people by escorting them to the door. Worst IT department ever - hopelessly run, can't do anything well, holds company back due to lack of support

Pros

Great work/life balance, and great compensation is also possible if you're marketable and provide unique skills.

Cons

They're not hiring any new engineers in North America, but are outsourcing everything to India, and as engineers from North America leave, they aren't being replaced. In addition, they have a track record of acquiring companies and rather than incorporating the new product and team as part of their overall strategy, they place the product on auto-pilot and ultimately lay off the principals a few years later.

Smart and compassionate people seem to be abundant. Great people.

Cons

Tumbling, company with no firm sense of direction. Holding on to old technology whilst grasping at straws for new technology. Making questionable decisions and concerned foremost with the shareholders and the Good Ol Boys. There's, quite honestly, a good chance that you'll get laid off at any given time, in a continual effort to balance the books and pay off debt.
