Terrible Experience!

Recommend
CEO approval
Business Outlook

Pros

• Good location • Young driven people (under upper management) • Being a smaller organization, your role will make an impact and have a lot of breadth • Coffee in the office

Cons

• Experience at this company is very dependent on the department you belong to and who you work with / report to. • Instances of blatant disrespect, name calling, intimidation, racist remarks by executive. • Compensation is below market value. • Some upper management / executives are inexperienced and unfit to be in a leadership role. It definitely shows in their lack of leadership skills, and their lack of interest in the well-being of their teams. • A lot of politics / conflicts at the executive and upper management level. There are individuals that do not like each other and they do not try to hide it. This lack of professionalism and respect is noticed by the employees.

Thank you for your feedback. We are committed to fostering a strong office culture and look to portray the values of fairness that we stand for as a company. Our company has various HR policies that are clearly highlighted in our on-boarding package and every employee is required to sign a code of conduct acknowledgement form, acknowledging that they have read these policies within the first few days of employment. We are proud of our Management and HR team and have every confidence that they have the proper training to deal with any concerns that may arise. Our team works diligently to ensure we are continuing to develop great values that we can be proud of. We regret to hear that you felt you were bullied and are dedicated to continuing to work with our staff to enforce a respectful, kind, and positive workplace. NEO continues to find new ways to involve their staff in various events and team building exercises, staff potlucks, monthly birthday celebrations and scrum breakfasts. These are some of the initiatives we support to thank our staff for their continued hard work and dedication.

Pros

Small team, full ownership of the systems, intelligent people with some notable exceptions. Not a sweatshop but not 9 to 5 either. People are highly motivated. Compensation and benefits are pretty good. Politics do not affect employees on the non-management level.

Cons

Very person dependent - as extreme as things stop for weeks when a key resource goes on vacation. Plenty of favoritism and nepotism. Everything is outsourced so you will be doing more vendor management then hansds-on work. The bottom line - everything depends of you and your boss. If the two of you work well together you will probably be fine. Otherwise watch out because there are few checks and balances. Staff turnover is above average.
