Pros

working from home and setting your own hours.

Cons

The pay sucks. It should be illegal to have anyone doing this job that holds lots of responsibility with such low pay. The doctors with the worst "mumble mouths" don't give a rat's you know what, that no one can understand what they are saying. With these reports you are making no money whatsoever, and unfortunately, the bad dictators outnumber the good ones by far!! I enjoyed the work, but I couldn't live off the pay.

Pros

Work from home, that's all. Chained to your computer all day long really...

Cons

Pay Grid is a joke! No room for error. We are expected to work like machines. Daily minimum is 2200 edited lines a day, or 11, 000 lines a week. This is very hard to obtain with 90% ESL dictators. In order to complete this in 8 hours a day, you must consistently edit 300 lines per hour. That is nearly impossible to do when most of the dictators don't speak good English. This is complicated medical language, not children's fairy tales! 300 lines per hour CONSISTENTLY, not unless you TL is cherry picking reports for you...

Pros

Nuance was very kind to me, they brought me from my home country to their Montreal office, followed through on the hiring process, were willing to help and train me, and recognized my efforts with good reviews, raises, a promotion, and business trip for more training. I worked day and night to guarantee I was giving back and they were happy with my contributions

Cons

But that didn’t mean a thing because their layoffs are decided by accountants and not actual management. I got cut with 15 other people in my office and overall 200 people as part of this Azure restructuring. Now I’m stranded in a new country needing to try and make things work with work permits, residency, etc and why? Because of some top-heavy decision
