Pros

- free tickets to Brewster owned attractions -living in banff -meeting co-workers. The companies biggest asset. NOT management. - IF upper management likes you, there's room for growth as most people leave because the company is cheap.

Cons

-Low level management makes promises they can't keep, because upper level management is cheap. -below market value wage. -could get fired by Ghada Wirth at any point(literally) working at the Banff Gondola. -Tries to run a world class restaurant while paying the manager $32,000. - Upper management doesn't speak to front line staff at the banff gondola. Not even a simple hello. -Very political working environment. Management plays favorites hardcore. - Management would rather spend 1K on decorations than give staff the wages they deserve. - Cannot negotiate whatsoever. - Staff accommodation is nice; but they treat you like children (weekly inspections (and they nit-pick), forms to fill out if you have guests, make up rules on the fly (no BBQ, wasn't in the lease), couples cannot live together)) -they manage using fear. - do not stick up for staff when customers are rude.

Good for the short term, but not the long.

Pros

Some really fantastic co-workers and people work for Brewster. Some nice perks for seasonal employees. Hard work can get you promoted in a hurry.

Cons

Long working hours for average pay and substandard benefits. Poor work/life balance during busy season. Most lower end/seasonal employees have a second job to make ends meet. Some positions are massively overworked.

Pros

Great staff accom in Banff. Good benefits for full time staff. Free tours for family. Good work life balance

Cons

It’s all about who you know, not how good you are at your job. Promotions happen based on friendships, terrible employees get away with anything because they’re friends with a manager while good staff get treated like dirt. Communication is awful, front line staff often find out about issues or updates from customers themselves which leaves us looking like idiots. Low pay and everyone is hired as a seasonal contract so they never have any obligation to you - everyone is viewed as replaceable, so there’s constant turnover and training of new staff, which leads to a worse guest experience. The company only seems to care about making money, and will throw their staff under the bus to get there.

Hi there, thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We do place a lot of importance on making sure our teams have cozy and comfortable accommodation, and time to make the most of the summer seasons! Unfortunately, team work environment and support structure is even more important, and it sounds like we let you down here. If you're up for sharing more of your feedback so that we can act on it, please reach out to Karen, our VP of People & Culture, at kgadberry@pursuitcollection.com. Thank you!
