Pros

Good pay, friendly staff to work with for the most part, opportunity to spend your hard earned money world wide with Ritz and Marriott properties. Company has a good training program that makes you feel like your number 1 until you actually see how things are run behind the sense.

Cons

Management cares only about their bottom line, forget the employees that make it happen management treats them like they are worthless. Little to no room to grow or move up unless your willing to kiss butt. HR is horrible at doing their job, they only care about covering up for managers mistakes. Long hours, no appreciation for staffs hard work, crappy staff meals you have to pay for, favoritism from manager to get preference. shifted blame, no one owns or take responsibility.

Pros

Great financial compensation, team work mentality throughout the hotel by employees, best perks and discounts for traveling around the world, opportunity to work multiple positions within the hotel once hired but not much room for actually moving up in the company without transferring.

Cons

Long long hours during busy season, very needy and particular guests, terrible HR team - they work for and with management only, management do not allows follow standards set out by company. Unrealistic expectations for set up times during events. You don't always get a food break.

Pros

Best Cafeteria , Food is quite good. You can work for more than one department to make more hours if you are not full time. The managers and co workers are all good people, even security staff. The Ritz competes with other hotels to make sure you are getting paid more then them. They try not to fire you instead work towards improving your skills.

Cons

Be prepared to work your butt off. The effort and hard work you put in is not worth the pay (in toronto), but that is all hospitality. If you are full time they can and will ask you to work extra hours during busy season which can last half the year. You can never say no to a guest no matter how rude or mean they are to you, and you must comply to their demands no matter what. The guests are usually mean, cruel and demanding to the normal workers, but in front of management they will show a different face and lie, they also lie to try and get free stuff, it's probably not personal, so be prepared to suck it up.
