Pros

Started off great with big promises, in-depth training in the States, follow-up training back here in Montreal. Before the stores opened, it was great. Everyone believed in the company and it was exactly what their slogan said: fast, fun, and friendly.

Cons

When the nightmare started happening: when we entered the stores. When nightmare got worse: when we opened the stores. What was their solution for a failing company, with no profits, with zero resources to help out stores? Very unprofessional "budget-cutting" by reducing by half the amount of managers per store. Very dirty work by upper management, invalid excuses, zero transparency, and zero appreciation for any of your hard work of 70+ hours/week. Basically: worst company I've ever seen, so much dirty work from the district it makes me sick to my stomach.

Pros

Great team. Great people. Love Starbucks. They at making me write 20 words.

Cons

Horrible ETL's (The 2 good ETL's left). Fake people. No hours. Lies. Empty shelves. Complaints about leaders are ignored. Those who suck up get ahead. Hard work doesn't matter. No one can admit when they are wrong and leaders with no skills are promoted because managers like them.

"Fast Fun and Friendly" is a farce.

Pros

-Knowing the clearance in the store the moment it happens. -Team Member Discount + Red Card savings = you don't pay tax! -BBQ days, free snacks in the breakroom (sometimes), friendly competitions between team members with prizes! -They do hand out recognition, and even when it's forced it still feels nice.

Cons

-The favoritism is ABSOLUTELY disgusting. -If you are not kissing someones behind, you will not go very far!!! -They expect you to work A LOT harder than humanly capable. On top of answering cash calls, covering someone who calls in sick every day, answering guest phone calls, helping guests in the store etc, etc.... -They don't fire people... period! You could get away with murder at this place. -You could call in sick for a quarter of your shifts, and you will not be penalized. -Those who show up every day, on time and do the work they are asked to do are the ones who are being penalized to work harder and do more. -It seems they only notice the work you DON'T do as opposed to the work you DO do. -They believe in 'corrective action' which means if you are horrible to other team members, you will not get fired. -Another team member could be harassing you for months and they wont do a thing about it -The management lie to you, tell you what you want to hear, promise you great things and then turn around and spread rumors behind your back
