Sales, and cold-calling specifically, is tough not just at Yelp, but anywhere you do it. To help keep things balanced, we randomly assign territories and swap account pools every few months so everyone has fair opportunities for success. As for the schedule, we ask our Account Executives to be available during work hours, for example 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, since that's when most of our small business clients are working.
