Had potential, ruined by incompetence
Pros
Most amazing ICs. The people below management made it tolerable. They also had lunch a few days a week. Competitive pay in Toronto vs NY. Learned how to manage toxic work environments better. Really teaches you the type of work environment to avoid like the plague (great lesson) and got to travel a good amount which was nice.
Cons
Most self invested incompetent leaders I’ve ever witnessed. Performative leadership demonstrated through rash and ill-planned business decisions masked by who could comment the loudest on a LinkedIn post or in reply-to on an email of nonsense. Disregards employee burnout but rather rewards with more work and no future for raises/promotions (unless you’re Israeli). Lack of care for customer success team and product feasibility and leads with a “sell sell sell even if it’s not the right fit” mentality.
