Pros
I've been with the company for most of my "adult" life and really have no complaints. Management is straight forward with their vision and has built an impressive culture within the company. In my limited experience working with other companies, sometimes it feels like they're more salespeople versus actually trying to provide value for their clients, that's not the case with FAST. There's actually pride at FAST in the service we provide to our clients, as opposed to a culture of simply accruing billable hours we can charge- something that I've experienced elsewhere. The clients recognize that as well and that makes delivering successful solutions a bit easier as they've bought in for the most part. We've definitely changed a bit from a decade ago, but as we've grown we've still been able to attract the kind of employees that keep FAST heading in the right direction. That's aided by an exceptional group of partners that have kept things on track as we've moved into other avenues outside of tax processing alone. I feel confident in their vision and ability to keep the company and those they employ successful.
Cons
We didn't get where we're at by being lazy. There are occasionally long hours or tough projects - but there's always help a call or email away. We're a bit nomadic in moving to where our work is - generally working with the clients at their work space, so that isn't for everyone - but involving yourself in the local community and seeing what it has to offer will at a minimum give you an appreciation of where you're from, if not a new place you call home.
