Pros
If you as a Security Officer are fortunate enough to be attacked on the job where there is more than one person on duty with you, there will always be some form of backup.
Cons
If you are attacked on the job, there is no support neither from the employer nor from the Union. You will still be called into work while you are injured which (according to W.S.I.B) sabotages your W.S.I.B. clam. If you are working a shift that requires you to physically leave the site for any reason (like pursuing a fleeing shoplifter or Mental Health patient) and you are attacked/injured, W.S.I.B. will automatically deny your claim. There is no help from G4S and the Union with W.S.I.B. especially if your claim is denied. Getting dental coverage arranged after being attacked on the job is a chore because you actually have to justify why you need it. Medical notes and forms have a habit of disappearing. The Union gladly takes your dues but offers no representation or legal help when you have been attacked on the job. Seriously, expect no help whatsoever because everybody covers their own posteriors in this business.
